Bye Bye Birdie - Mayor's Wife?

Okay I was just cast as the Mayor's wife in my middle school musical (Bye Bye Birdie) I know i get to faint in the mayors arms (a seventh grader..im an eighth grader...hmmmm...) But do I have any singing or speaking parts? Everyone says its a great role, but I think they were just trying to be nice...has anyone done this show and know? Or possibly has been this character??
